New document from the QCA: "Progress Matters"

Jan Dubiel, EYFS Programme Leader at the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority, announced the forthcoming document at the recent Nursery World conference. He also stated that the QCA is putting together a questionnaire to evaluate the EYFS and he urges everyone working within the EYFS to complete it. He explained that feedback from the workforce will influence the future and helps the QCA to take things forward.

Vetting and barring scheme to be put on hold.

The DCSF launches Support for All: The Families and Relationships Green Paper
Feb 3rd, 2010 Support for All sets out a broad cross-Government strategy on supporting families and relationships. Evidence shows that parental involvement in their children's education has a significant positive effect on educational achievement, not just early on in life, but also into adolescence and adulthood.

CWDC and University of Wolverhampton launch EYP research project
Jan 14th, 2010 EYPs are being asked to take part in an online survey, ending on February 19th 2010, which is collecting data on the impact EYPs are having on the quality of early years settings.

Nov 24th, 2009 CWDC state "The common core is working well, but we want to make it even better. A refreshed version will be published in March 2010 and you can help shape it by taking part in the common core consultation."
