The University of Chester Pathway information The University of Chester is part of a consortium of HEIs collectively called the North West Early Years Transformation Group (NWEYTG) - working in partnership with Liverpool Hope University and the University of Cumbria
EYPS Pathway starting points to end of 2010:
•Validation - September 2009, January 2010, September 2010
•Short pathway - September 2009, January 2010, September 2010
•Long pathway - September 2009, September 2010
•Full - September 2009, September 2010. NB: at the University of Chester this is offered as a Postgraduate Certificate in Early Years Practice with EYPS which draws on CWDC funding for the Full pathway and comes with £5,000 bursary. (http://www.chester.ac.uk/postgraduate/eyps)
The Full pathway to EYPS without the M level study can be accessed through other consortium provision, i.e. at Liverpool Hope University and University of Cumbria.
The University of Chester offers an Early Years Sector-Endorsed Foundation Degree in Early Years Practice which is available to students at the Warrington campus of the University
(http://www.chester.ac.uk/foundation-degree/early-years-practice) or at our partner institution in Chester, West Cheshire College. This is an appropriate starting point for practitioners who have achieved level 3 or 4 awards seeking to progress to degree status and ultimately to EYPS.

Level 6 top-up - the University of Chester now runs an integrated working focused top-up Level 6 programme designed to enable students progressing from a variety of Foundation Degrees to experience integrated study and study integrated working to address the needs of the wider Children's Workforce - an exciting and highly appropriate progression route from the Early Years Sector-Endorsed Foundation degree in Early Years Practice and foundation for entry to the Validation/Short EYPS pathways.

We can also offer a range of buy-in modules at "M" level of particular interest to EYPs that can lead to the award of Masters of Arts degree.
