University of Derby
University of Derby Pathway information
There are four ways you can achieve Early Years Professional Status:
• Graduate Practitioner Pathway (GPP)
You’ll be a graduate currently working in the sector that requires a small amount of learning or experience before you can demonstrate the EYP Standards.
• Undergraduate Practitioner Pathway (UPP)
You’ll already be working in the sector with a Level 5 qualification for example a foundation degree in early years. You will be working to ‘top up’ to a full degree on this pathway.
• Graduate Entry Pathway (GEP)
You’ll have a degree, limited experience of working with children from birth to five but you are looking to pursue a career working in early years.
• Undergraduate Entry Pathway (UEP) – Available from September 2012
You’ll be an Undergraduate student undertaking a degree in Early Childhood Studies.
The two 'practitioner' pathways are part-time and designed for current practitioners. The two 'entry' pathways are full-time and designed for new entrants to the workforce
On your application we will invite you to an informal chat where we will discuss your experience and determine the best pathway for you.
